Why we love it
Unlike our other creations, the Maverick leaves our workshops in the raw. It's on the owner's wrist that the watch acquires its finish. It will be transformed through symbiosis with its host. says Urwerk's chief designer and co-founder Martin Frei on this 2019-released UR-105 CT Maverick. The Maverick has a titanium case and bronze bezel. Bronze is widely admired for its corrosion resistance and durability properties. But mostly, for how the metal beautifully segues into different forms over time, attaining a patina that is unique and charming.
Urwerk likes to run wild with its watch designs, as the house did with UR-105 CT. Its first two iterations - UR-105 CT Streamliner and UR-105 CT Kyptronite were widely successful, and Maverick joined the series as the third model. It's a remarkable feat of watchmaking, comprised of an impressive front bezel that looks like the helmets of Roman Centurions. It brings Urwerk's signature wandering satellite hours along with a power reserve indicator on the far right and a digital seconds indicator on the far left.
