The Arnold & Son Globetrotter is a true horological masterpiece, boasting an unconventional design and a practical world-time complication. It instantly grabs attention with its unique three-dimensional, dome-shaped depiction of the Northern Hemisphere at the centre of the dial. This beautifully recreated map of the Northern Hemisphere with all the land masses, mountains and oceans is elevated by an arched steel bridge with a ruby at the centre that facilitates its movement. This complex artistic element is enclosed within a round steel case that measures 45mm in diameter. The case is naturally large so the dome-shaped structure as well as the other features can sit conspicuously and legibly. As a result, the Roman numeral hour markers and the 24-hour scale are placed most elegantly on the dial, creating a very pleasing vista overall.
The back of the Arnold & Son Globetrotter reveals the automatic calibre A&S6022. Developed, assembled, decorated, adjusted and manufactured at the factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds, this movement carries a large balance wheel that oscillates at 28,800bph and offers a power reserve of 45 hours. It features beautiful perlage finishing on the mainplate, while the bridges are decorated with a Cotes de Geneve pattern.
