The Arnold & Son Globetrotter is a true horological masterpiece, boasting an unconventional design and a practical world-time complication. It instantly grabs attention with its unique three-dimensional, dome-shaped depiction of the Northern Hemisphere at the centre of the dial. This beautifully-recreated map of the Northern Hemisphere with all the land masses, mountains and oceans is elevated by an arched steel bridge with a ruby at the centre that facilitates its movement. This complex artistic element is enclosed within a round steel case that measures 45mm in diameter. The case is naturally large so the dome-shaped structure as well as the other features can sit conspicuously and legibly. As a result, the Roman numeral hour markers and the 24-hour scale are placed most elegantly on the dial, creating a very pleasing vista overall.
The back of the Arnold & Son Globetrotter reveals the automatic calibre A&S6022. Developed, assembled, decorated, adjusted and manufactured at the factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds, this movement carries a large balance wheel that oscillates at 28,800bph and offers a power reserve of 45 hours. It features beautiful perlage finishing on the mainplate, while the bridges are decorated with a Cotes de Geneve pattern.
