In 2022, Girard-Perregaux captivated everyone by dramatically modifying the personality of the brand's linchpin Laureato. For the first time, Laureato arrived in a compact 38mm case giving this iconic timepiece a fresh feel and a slimmer profile.
Naturally, the most evident refinement done to the watch is its 38mm stainless steel case, which is quite an elegant departure from the 42mm models that majorly populate the collection. The recessed size also helps the integrated bracelet settle much more comfortably on the wrist. The bezel is the signature octagonal ring atop a circular one, adding a sense of visual balance.
With the dial of this Laureato, Girard-Perregaux brings its unparalleled craftsmanship to display. The surface is adorned in Clous de Paris pattern that offers a distinct texture to the copper hue and looks attractive in changing light. The dial is contrasted by luminous silver-tone hour indexes and hands, simultaneously complemented by the gold-tone brand logo at 12 and the central second hands. The date aperture at three is added in a tone-on-tone finish.
Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback is the mechanical calibre GP03300 that claims 46 hours of power reserve at a 28,800bph beat rate. It is decorated with a range of finishing techniques, including Geneva stripes on the movement bridges and a perlage pattern on the rotor.
